  • Device & Usage Data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, time spent on platform, search queries, clicks and interactions
  • Communication Data: Emails sent to support, messages in notifications, feedback provided
  • Optional Information: Bio, social media handles, ambassador application details, organizer portfolio information

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • Service Delivery: Creating and managing your account, processing ticket purchases and payments, delivering digital tickets, processing refunds
  • Personalization: Recommending events based on your interests and university, customizing your dashboard and social feed, targeting relevant ads and campaigns
  • Monetization Features: Calculating and distributing referral commissions, tracking ambassador earnings, processing organizer payouts, managing marketplace transactions
  • Platform Safety: Detecting fraudulent activity, enforcing our terms of service, preventing abuse and spam, age verification (18+ requirement)
  • Analytics & Improvement: Understanding user behavior, improving platform features, identifying bugs, testing new features, A/B testing
  • Marketing & Communication: Sending event reminders and notifications, promotional emails (with opt-out option), newsletters, important account updates
  • Legal Compliance: Complying with tax regulations, responding to legal requests, maintaining audit trails for financial transactions

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secure servers provided by Supabase (PostgreSQL database) and hosted on cloud infrastructure. We implement:

  • Encryption of data in transit (HTTPS/SSL)
  • Row-level security policies to ensure users can only access their own data
  • Regular security audits and backups
  • Restricted access to databases (limited to authorized personnel)
  • Payment card data is never stored on our servers—handled exclusively by Paystack (PCI-DSS compliant)

However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we implement industry-standard practices.

4. Third-Party Sharing & Processing

We do NOT sell your personal information. We only share data with:

  • Paystack: Payment processor — receives email, transaction amounts, and payment information to process payments
  • Resend: Email service provider — receives email address and ticket details to send confirmations and notifications
  • Event Organizers: Attendee names, emails, and ticket information for event management and communication
  • Analytics Services: Aggregated, anonymized usage data to understand platform trends
  • Legal Authority: When required by law or to protect platform security

All third-party processors are contractually obligated to maintain confidentiality and use data only for the purposes specified.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data as long as your account is active. Transaction history and payment records are retained for 7 years to comply with tax regulations. You can request deletion of your account, though we may retain aggregated anonymized data for analytics purposes.

6. Your Rights & Control

You have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of all data we hold about you
  • Correct: Update or modify your personal information through your account settings
  • Delete: Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Opt-Out: Unsubscribe from promotional emails (transactional emails cannot be opted out)
  • Data Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format

7. Children & Minors

Uzzina is not intended for users under 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we discover a minor has registered, we will delete their account.
